HPHP Hosting Team Evaluator Practicum Empty HPHP Hosting Team Evaluator Practicum

HPHP has been invited to host a 2009 Team Practicum. Of course, the board welcomed the opportunity.

All details, including the dates, are in the "works."

We are very proud to host this event.

If you are interested in becoming a Team Evaluator, you must meet certain requirements. I have coped information from Delta on that subject.

If you are approved to take the training, which includes a home study course and a practicum, HPHP anticipates paying members' course expenses. The Home Study portion runs around $65 (including shipping) and the Practicum is $120. Since we are sponsoring the Practicum, there will not be a need to cover travel expenses.

HPHP definitely can benefit by having additional evaluators in the organization and this is a wonderful opportunity.

Some of you only visit in a single environment, but you have several months to add a 2nd environment in order to qualify - this practicum will not be until 2009, but don't put off getting that experience.

If you are interested but would like additional information, please contact Diane.

Below is the information posted by Delta.

Become a Team Evaluator
Prerequisites

You must be at least 21 years old.
You must be registered as a Pet Partner for at least 2 years. You may be registered as a Pet Partner without an animal.
You must visit for 20 hours in 2 or more different environments within the previous 2 years as a handler of a Pet Partners team. If you are not registered with an animal, you may substitute shadowing Pet Partners teams for 20 hours of visits in 2 or more different environments.
You must also have participated in a Team Evaluation as a handler of an animal. The animal may belong to a friend or family member. You and the animal are not required to pass the evaluation, but both must meet all evaluation prerequisites.
If you are a current Team Evaluator, but are not now a Pet Partner, you need to become a Pet Partner and begin your visits or shadowing of Pet Partners. Delta will want to see that you have made a serious effort to meet the prerequisites at the time of your next renewal.

Basic Process

Once the prerequisites are verified by Delta, purchase Pet Partners Team Evaluator Home Study Course Materials (Pet Partners Team Evaluator Home Study Student Guide, Pet Partners Team Evaluator Written Test, Team Evaluator Home Study Video, and Team Evaluator Policies and Procedures Manual) from Delta.
Complete the home study portion of the course. Complete the written test and send it to Delta Society for scoring. Students are allowed 2 attempts to pass the Written Test (2 different, but equivalent versions).
Attend Pet Partners Team Evaluation Course Practicum, which includes an assessment of the student's performance during the Practicum. Students are allowed 2 attempts to pass the Practicum.
Contact Rachel Wright at Delta Society for the detailed instructions to become a Pet Partners Team Evaluator. Rachel will verify that you meet the prerequisites to be a Team Evaluator. If you are in Europe and you are interested in becoming a Team Evaluator, please visit AIUCA.
