MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Delta Society requires either the participation in a 12 hour workshop let by a licensed Delta Instructor (I am not, Diane Carpenter is) OR the completion of the Home Study Manual if you live in an area where the 12 hour workshop is not available. THEN the passing of the evaluation as a team
PAWS 4 LOVE and HUNTSVILLE PETS HELPING PEOPLE have found the 12 hour workshop detrimental as there were no registrations the times it was offered. SOOO we developed our program which requires the participants study the Delta Society Home Study Manual, THEN we encourage the participation in our homegrown Pet Therapy 101 workshop where we share our information, hands on learning, and review material in the Home Study manual for reinforcement. Of course then the teams must pass the evaluation.
SO: To be a Delta Society PEt Partner requirements are:
1. 12 hour workshop or Home Study Manual completion
2. Evaluation with a Predictable or Complex rating
3. Delta Society Application and fee payment
TO BE A PAWS 4 LOVE/hphp member:
1. Delta Society membership as a PEt Partner Team or honorary member-
spouses and Doris Bodenhamer (Mama)
- 2. Completion of our workshop Pet Therapy 101 (unless an exception is granted based on experience or profession)
3. Submission of Paws 4 Love application and dues and approval by officers
We will also schedule a new member orientation sometime right after the new year to make sure everyone knows how the group functions and who to call on for help, etc. Just to try to give all the extra support to our members that we can.
Paws dues are due the first of the new year. Also remember you are asked to participate in three programs of Paws (workshops, evaluations, business meetings, CGC events, speaking engagements, etc) during the year and have accrued 20 volunteer hours during the year. (We recognize special events in all our lives limit our activities: but this are the guidelines we encourage our members to meet, AND of course encourage to exceed).
