I saw from one angle, Niesy, but you were right there. Tell us your side of "the fight". Did Crush vocalize with that dog or did that only start after the fight? I know he rumbled with the next dog, but that English Springer Spaniel ignored it or thought nothing of it.

Niesy tell us Crush's side of the Fight Empty Crush and the poodle

Post  Niesy Bevilacqua Thu May 14, 2009 10:35 am

I know Crush was very wary of the poodle from the beginning. He was bristling some after I greeted the other handler, but he was still with me and under control. After I saw the dog come after him, I realized why he was reacting the way he was. Crush and I meet other dogs every week up at Wildwood where my parents live. Often they come running up barking at Crush and he only looks at them and sniffs. Even when he's off leash, we never have a problem with other dogs. My beagles and my mother-in-law's dachshunds run all over him and boss him around. I don't know what that poodle was saying to him, but he didn't like it. I really feel that dog is not cut out to be a therapy dog from the stress he showed during the test, not to mention all the irresponsibilities the owner showed us that day.
