Happy Fourth of July

This has always been my second favorite holiday. It's my Dad's birthday, and then my niece came along on the 4th. It was also my Grandfather's birthday the 6th I think, and my brother's the 2nd. So growing up in Ohio, we always had a big picnic/birthday party and watched fireworks.

Today I did a big dove release for the "Village Independence Festival" over in the Bunker Hill area. Joe went, and we got to celebrate the day along with everyone else, so it didn't seem like work at all! It was one of my favorite jobs I've had yet.

We took this little lady in her holiday outfit for the kids to pet. It was her debut. She is totally tame, and sits on my hand to be petted. The kids loved her and had a million questions. Her name is "Pearl". She was worn out when we got home, resting so soundly I thought she was dead when I checked on her. Her outfit includes a leash and doubles as a diaper.
