snake bite
Jazzmine is resting comfortably on the bed with the fan blowing on her while she recovers from a snake bite.
Marjorie rushed Jazzmine to the vet this morning to receive the steroids and other medications to keep the venom from swelling up the throat and reduce the swelling in the face.
Isn't that always the case - our dogs just put their noses where they may not be welcomed - at least by the local snake population.
Dr. Liz suggested that a dosage of Benadril is probably the best immediate medication that should be given. The same applies to bee and ant stings.
Jazzmine will be taking a sick day tomorrow and will return to work next week.
Extra hugs to Jazzmine.

Re: snake bite
One thing I really miss about living in Alaska with dogs is the total lack of snakes and heartworm. I lost Dyna, my first English Setter, to a rattlesnake shortly after she finished her field championships. Ironically, the rattlesnake vaccines became available only months after she died. Needless to say everyone is vaccinated now.
Wishing a fast recovery to Jazzmine.
