Dance of the Hummers

This is truly a shoot the breeze topic.
Most mornings Holly, Bruce and I have coffe together out on the front porch as James is a late sleeper and I enjoy just watching the morning unfold. A good time for prayer and meditation before facing the day.
The hummingbirds are here and my porch has 5 feeders which attract an uncountable number of nimble fliers. This morning I put the low casting springler on to water a few spots in my lawn. To my amazement the showers of water drew the hummingbirds. They darted in and out of the spray, starting high and getting lower and lower as they circle through the mist, finally settling for a moment on a blade of grass and seemingly drinking from a drop of water on the blade. Then off again to waltz among the mist.
In all the years I have fed and enjoyed the spring and summer visitors to my feeders I have never seen this display.
