We really don't know to much news just that she went today and saw Dr. Whitman .
He said he could take out the lump but then watch the place carefully for cancer or remove the breast entirelyand you wouldn"t have to worry about cancer anymore. He wanted her to see an onocologist Dr. Medeline next then come back to see him.

Sounds typical. I went for the lumpectomy, but pathology found cancer cells in the tissues surrounding the lump, so had to return for the mastectomy. Not in lymp cells so did not have to have chemo or radiation, just the oral chem. The mastectomey is not so bad, no fun, but not painful. Oral chemo has side affects, some hair loss, some nausa, but not the devastating experience of chemo. I guess you and she have to make that decision based on her health and her age.

Let us know what we can do and keep us informed.
