Lizzi's puppies
We had a much awaited and hoped for event on April 18th. Lizzi had 5 pups in the middle of that horrible storm weekend. Lizzi is 7 years old, and we have tried to get a breeding from her for 2 years. This time I enlisted the aid of Dr. Kempschmidt, a breeding specialist at Brittmore. Our "Boss" is the third stud dog to give it a try and he succeeded! We have 2 girls and 3 boys, and I believe all of them are going to field trial homes.
Anyone is welcome to come by and see them, the more the better. Bring children! They are getting really cute and starting to play for short periods. I really enjoyed Jo Ann's visit.
Here are some pics from last weekend just after their eyes opened. Joe finally got to come home and meet them, and held them for their second portraits. It is fun to look at them at guess which will be our next field champion.
Black/white girl
Blue boy
Tri-colored boy
Here is another pic of "Boss" from when I won a five point major in Open Gun Dog in Feb 2008 in Brownwood. My scout was my friend Jim Blumentritt since Joe couldn't come to the trial. Boss is a Field Champion and Amateur Field Champion.
Liz is not a field champion but she is a qualified All-Age contender. That means she runs fast and a huge range, which is something we look for in breeding stock. She also has a couple AKC placements. Hopefully she will slow down enough that we can get her field championship as she is not at all ready to retire. Here is a pic of her at about a year.
